Why Does Molten Strike Only Do Fire Dmg

Jan 03, 2019  Disemboweling doesn't do anything for your MS balls, but if you check PoB, the 'Main hit' portion of Molten Strike actually does considerable DPS. For only 3-4 skill points, with decent crit chance (and diamond flask) it easily increases your melee hit portion by 100-150K+ DPS. Not only does the skill have incredible single target damage potential. Is by adding additional projectiles. This is achieved by acquiring a Dying Sun and a helmet, which is enchanted with “Molten Strike fire 2 additional projectiles”. Wouldn’t you prefer 30% projectile dmg over the 20 dex considerig this would take 1 additional. Because you kind of have to scale Molten Strike in such an odd way (point blank, iron grip, non melee and weapon specific phys nodes, maybe projectile damage if you are desperate) it didn't make sense to use anything else. Fortunately, Frost Blades came about and covered that gap. I hate the skill, but they make a decent team.

Fire Strike is a basic tier fire spell from the default spellbook available at level 13 Magic. It is the weakest fire spell available. Casting the spell alone requires 3 Fire runes, 2 Air runes, and 1 Mind rune or one may use a smoke staff to negate the cost of all elemental runes.

Why Does Molten Strike Only Do Fire Dmg Get

Deflects all attacks and reduces all damage you take by 30% for 8 sec, but you cannot attack.
what is an 'attack'? it's not just physical attack since hunters are told to go soak lots of magic abilities around the room that do damage or some form of cc on your raids. example: cenarius brambles (magic/shadow dmg/you avoid getting rooted), helya tentacle strike (nature damage), trilliax/scrubbers exploding (arcane damage, you get thrown in the air), botanist spores (nature dmg), guldan bonds of fel (fire dmg)
if it deflects all attacks, why is there still a damage reduction of 30% (is this for dots? dots on me don't seem to be deflected when i have turtle on, and still ticks for alot, but i assume this is where reduction is applied? then there are abilities that you cant turtle at all, trilliax 'annihilation' which is arcane dmg insta killed me while i was in turtle. i guess the name isnt a joke, apparently there are abilities that even kill ret paladin though their bubble.
why does turtle avoid cc sometimes? it doesnt state that anywhere in the ability. if 'deflect attacks' also means you avoid cc portions of abilities, why does scrubbers explosion send me flying through the air?
i came back to wow in legion, past expansions i played casually and never really knew these mechanics. (i only recently learned the difference of auto attacks, basic attacks and melee attacks for my pets oO)
